SMCP’s play reading event is a GREAT opportunity for you to simply show up, read a part and have some fun - all without the bother of those pesky auditions and rehearsals!Our first play reading event will honour an absolute classic of theatre - Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap. With 8 delicious characters, all secluded at an English countryside manor during a nasty snowstorm, this who-dunnit is full of comedy and cunning.

To attend, email [email protected] and indicate whether you would like to be an ‘Actor’ or ‘Audience’. We’ll draw names of the ‘Actors’ from a hat at the event.
THE CHARACTERS
Mollie Ralston: Young, attractive, an air of innocence; owns Monkswell Manor with her husband.
Giles Ralston: Mollie’s husband; co-owner of Monkswell Manor. Arrogant and attractive.
Christopher Wren: Young, eccentric, neurotic guest at the Manor. wild-looking and untidy.
Mrs. Boyle: Older, critical, unpleasant guest at the Manor.
Major Metcalf: Retired military man; square-shouldered; rigid manner.
Miss Casewell: Mysterious, aloof guest.
Mr. Paravicini: Foreign, elderly man; arrives unexpectedly after his car overturns.
Detective Trotter: Police officer; arrives to investigate a murder.
