What should this cost?
What are YOU charging?
Does it matter the price of this service is wildly different than the price of that service?
What if they’re a nonprofit? Do I charge differently?
Do I charge upfront, in deposits, or at the very end?
How will the cadence of payments impact my sales?
What if the client says no?
How can I get the client to say yes, faster?
Mmhmm.
Yup.
Pricing and sales.
In other words, the topic most creative professionals will always and forever feel anxiety about.
There is no industry standard for pricing.
What we do have is a lot of vague advice like “charge what you’re worth” and “charge the value you’re creating, not the deliverable.”
… what does that even mean…
Finding the delicate balance between your prices, what your client expects to pay, and what will support you and your work is tricky.
It’s made even trickier because we have no industry standards, which creates a false sense of Extreme Competition and price wars to the bottom.

Anna Hetzel will be guiding us through questions, helping us connect in small group discussions, and making sure we know where the coffee is.
Tickets range from $0 to $8.
Parking is the same as always - in the gravel lots around Lucas, Rich, and Town Streets - please do not park at BrewDog.

- 10:30 AM - arrive and grab yourself a coffee or a tea and snag a seat
- 10:45 AM - Event kickoff, expectations, and a (very dumb) icebreaker question
- 10:55 AM - Small group breakouts with no more than 5 people per group. Anna will be providing questions to get the conversation flowing.
- 11:30 AM - Large group sharing
- 11:35 AM - Back to your small groups with new ideas to discuss from the large group share
- 11:50 AM - Wrap up and thank you!
- 12 PM - Bye bye and have a great rest of your Wednesday
