Barry Herniman is a full-time artist who has spent many years capturing the beauty of landscapes and seascapes, both in the studio and en plein air. Armed with his trusty sketchbooks, Barry travels widely to paint scenes that inspire him—from the rolling countryside and dramatic coastlines to the energy of busy cities.His preferred medium is watercolour, drawn to its immediacy, luminosity, and the magical way colours mingle on the paper. For Barry, few things are more exciting or rewarding than painting directly in front of his subject, fully immersed in the atmosphere of the moment.
Although landscapes remain his first love, Barry’s artistic interests are broad. He is equally at home painting a diverse range of subjects, including portraits and steam locomotives.
Barry also shares his passion and expertise with others through demonstrations, workshops, and painting holidays across the UK and abroad, inspiring artists at all levels.
The Left Bank Village and De Koffie Pot are delighted to be hosting Barry’s latest exhibition, celebrating his vibrant and atmospheric watercolours.
