The Money Playbook is a multi-week financial literacy program at The YDC designed to help kids build confidence and practical skills around money. Led by United Bank, this program breaks down complex financial concepts into engaging, age-appropriate lessons that meet kids where they are and help prepare them for real life. Each session combines instruction with interactive games to reinforce learning in a way that feels fun, accessible, and empowering. Topics include understanding money and how it is earned, identifying needs versus wants, setting goals, building a budget, saving wisely, and learning the basics of smart credit use. Games like Banker Bingo, Memory, Making Change, and Money Bags help bring each lesson to life and keep students actively engaged.
The program concludes with a celebration and parent or guardian information session, offering families insight into what participants have learned and how to continue those conversations at home. While adults attend the presentation, kids will enjoy financial literacy board games in a supervised setting. The Money Playbook equips young people with foundational money skills and the confidence to make informed decisions now and in the future.
