About this Event
Are you interested in teaching your children about money? Are you looking for a fun and engaging atmosphere for them to learn the concepts of money? Are YOU interested in learning about budgeting, credit score improvement, real estate investing, and more? Look no further!
Visionary Crystal McLean has teamed up with the G B Myers Recreation Center to teach about money in a fun and creative way. The local best-selling Author & Financial Literacy Advocate has partnered with two other phenomenal community change agents to educate, empower, and enrich their community. Crystal McLean has a passion for teaching children and families about creating healthy money habits and much more. Kerstin Driver, a financial consultant and wealth builder of Abundant Living Consulting Corp, will add strategies for parents on how to prepare financially and grow assets. Sylvia Glanton of Personameant Solutions, will also teach parents the power of building and strengthening personal credit and paying off debt. A local First Bank Representative will share budgeting tips and tools on how to ensure parents have the proper banking solutions.
Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to learn about financial concepts such as credit establishment, budget creation, debt management, and more for free. Children will enjoy a powerful time learning about saving, want vs. need, credit, assets vs. debt, and more, while finishing off by creating their own personal crafted Money Box.
This event is geared toward children ages 7-14 and their parents/guardians. Admission is totally FREE, and food will be provided. Free resources will be given to participants throughout the event. Don't miss this—space is limited.
Crystal McLean has also partnered with the local First Bank located at 2818 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28303. First Bank states, "we believe our customers are meant to achieve financial independence, to prosper, and to pursue the passions that drive their dreams," and this aligns perfectly with the mission of the Annual Money Box Workshop Event.
The food is provided by Black-owned Southern Experience Catering and Events, which felt that this event was necessary to support because of how it positively impacts our community and our future.
The generous contributions from each sponsor have allowed this year’s Money Box Event to be free for all participants (youth and parents alike). Crystal McLean’s vision this year was to ensure no barrier of entry for any attendees who desires to be present. The sponsors ensured that every participant would enter for free, eat for free, and leave with free resources.
