About this Event
'I died badly. But I lived beautifully. How we end isn't who we are.'
A lonely tourist arrives in Provincetown looking for freedom in his identity, only to instead find himself a drunken mess in the spare room of a notorious local drag queen named the Siren. Left alone to his thoughts, a snoop through the queen's vintage magazine collection releases a spirit trapped inside the pages: the ghost of a twinkling, charming model named Freddie Wilde. Having spent the past few decades trapped in limbo, the model insists that Tommy assist him in shifting off this mortal coil, and in doing so, he discovers an emotional connection between the Siren and his new spectral companion. With Tommy caught between two old friends on opposite planes of existence, all three are forced to confront a legacy of shame passed down between generations of queer people.
Oscillating between earnest comedy and heartbreaking tragedy, ‘The Model’ is an exploration of unconventional states of being, the weight of shared history on our present, and the lengths we will go to feel love.
