The Mockingbird Sings: The Story of the Beginnings of Country Music

Theatre Bristol will again be performing the play at the newly purchased Cameo Theatre in September, wrapping around the beginning and end of the popluar Rhythm and Roots festival this fall. Please note that the dates will be 4 nights: Sep 12-14, 17 & 18th. Featuring over 23 songs from English ballads, celtic reels and jigs, Memphis blues and gospel music performed live. Set in 1927, Bristol, Tennessee recording of the "big bang," better known as the birth of country music recorded as "The Bristol Sessions," the play illustrates the elements that make up what is now recognized today as country music.
