The Ministry of Folk is your alternative folk club featuring a variety of super-talented, nearly-acoustic acts in a beautiful historical hall in Mt Eden. Cabaret style seating and BYO drinks.
Grab your tickets to see Good Habits, Bill Angus and your genial hosts Hoop.... and prepare for an awesome night of music.
Bill Angus plays melodic and moody acoustic guitar driven by intelligent lyrics and a folky, finger-style tradition. It's twenty years since he was signed to the record company that produced Muse. His music has a punk sensibility like the catchy acoustic tunes you used to love. Check out his latest album on spotify - "Like Nick Drake and Paul Simon took a big yellow taxi to the Flying Nun studios" N.J. Wellington
Good Habits are an award winning UK alternative-folk duo, telling stories and turning heads across the globe. They've been wowing audiences across NZ and built quite a following!
Composed of singer-cellist Bonnie Schwarz and accordionist-percussionist Pete Shaw, the nomadic couple create folk-infused songs that test the limits of their traditional instruments.
Sitting between folk and indie, their upbeat and interactive set guides the audiences through the chapters of their musical adventures, maintaining folk roots of musical storytelling amongst their energetic, virtuosic playing.
With an eclectic mix influences, Good Habits create a sound that is intriguing, yet warm and uplifting. "Revved up folkies who stitch many elements into their sound and move along with great spirit and energy" - 13th Floor

As always, Hoop will pull the show together and entertain you with their fiddle-infused folk rock sounds.
