Nine Miniature Railways come together to build “The Miniature Railway Spectacular” at the famous Great Central Railway. A celebration of portable miniature railways with rides on 5 and 7 1/4 inch gauge trains at Quorn Station.Portable railways are our passion. Participating railways include those that run as non-profits supporting charities as well as commercial railways. Together share one common interest: Building pop-up portable railways.

Railway Construction: We're building the railway on Friday 19th. Visitors to the GCR are welcome to view our progress. Please remain behind/do not cross barriers while construction is on progress.

From Large to Little:
Hop onboard a standard gauge train at Loughborough, Rothley or Leicester North and enjoy a ride on the UK’s only Mainline Heritage Railway before joining us at Quorn station for rides on one of our many miniature trains

The Portable Railway Club is a Non-Profit Organization Supported by MRW for the promotion of Portable Railways. The club operates running days with members able to participate and Visitors able to buy tickets to ride on the trains.
