The time has finally come - the mountain air is crisp and cold, frost melts gently from the waiting earth, cockatoos wheel and turn across the sky, and from the chorus of bird and bee, of rasping cricket and whistling pine, of creaking bough and slithering scale a whisper grows to a crescendo…’TERROR AUSTRALIS’ is here!
Join Australia’s premier (and only) fully accredited ecology themed punk/garage/psych/doom band ‘THE MIGHTY HOOPSNAKE’ as they launch their debut album ‘TERROR AUSTRALIS’ into the world (for real this time, they have it printed and everything).
They are joined by scions of the sonic sciences and crucial keystone species in the Canberra punk ecosystem ‘SPOUSE’ as they expand their musical mycelium throughout Canberra and beyond, linking, binding, and nourishing with their rich and roiling riffs.
And as from the cradle to the grave they are joined again by stalwarts of the Canberra music scene and veritable PhDs in polyphonic pedagogy ‘KILROY’ as they bring the animal snarl, thunderous rhythm, and hawk-eyed vision that has made them one of ACT’s most charismatic post-punk species.
This musical menagerie is hosted at Canberra’s richest artistic habitat ‘GANG GANG’ Saturday August 23rd – doors form 630pm - tickets $15 online, $20 at the door.
So come along, grab a drink, bang your head, and disappear into the Darwinian horror that is ‘TERROR AUSTRALIS’!'
