Screaming Tribesmen leader Mick Medew and musical and life partner Ursula are touring their second album, “In The Zone”, and will play with their band, The Mick Medew and Ursula 4, in Newcastle and Sydney in February.

The Mick Medew and Ursula 4 plays Sydney’s Marrickville Bowling Club with The Dark Clouds and Jupiter 5 on Saturday, February 15. Ticets go on sale on Friday.

“In The Zone” has been in high rotation around the country and overseas - but especially in hometown Brisbane where it was Album of the Week - and has been hailed as a tougher successor to 2022’s “Love Is Calling”.�
The CD nods to Mick’s musical beginnings with The 31st on Brisbane’s seamy underground scene of the early 1980s, but also ranges into pop, bubblegum and surf.�
Mick and Ursula were joined in the studio by former Mick Medew and the Mesmerisers bassist Lois Andrews and drummer Stuart Mclaughlin, also with dark synth mistress Sarah Stockholm and alt rockers The Melancholics.�
The album’s stylistic sweep spans punky anthem, “Punk Grandma”, the bustling surf-tinged ride “In The Waves”, the moody and arresting “Man In The Moon” and the alt.country waltz, “She’s Only Happy When She’s Drinking”. There’s also a tribute to Yoko Ono in “God Bless Yoko Ono”. �
