As part of a highly selective, extremely well-considered three-date Tasmanian tour, The Mean Times will be appearing in all their stupor at Hobart Brewing Co on Saturday 14 February. This show forms part of the Feel More Dumb album tour, celebrating the band’s new(ish) record — a collection of songs about getting older, knowing better, and doing it anyway. Produced by Anna Laverty, the album sits somewhere between power pop, garage rock and mild existential concern, and has been described by no one yet as “surprisingly competent.”
Expect earnest guitars, economical choruses, and lyrics that suggest growth while quietly undermining it.
Entry is free, because art should be accessible and also because breweries sell beer, which is a better use of your money.
