EWH DTU invites you to a presentation about our ongoing collaboration with the Masanga Hospital, located in Sierra Leone's jungle. Join us for an inspiring evening of jungle talk, futures plans and hear how you can get involved, as we're looking for new biomed expats for the 2025 mission! There will be cake and tea/coffee at the event and we look forward to presenting our progress and opportunities for you.

Masanga Hospital is a rural hospital with 150 beds situated in Tonkolili district, Sierra Leone. About 440.000 people are dependent on the hospital for their health care and it provides (emergency) surgical, obstetrical and pediatric care, as well as general health care and other specialized care (eye care, wound care and more). This government hospital is supported by the Masanga Hospital Rehabilitation Project since 2006. Besides clinical care, Masanga has a college focused on health education and promoting medical research to ensure capacity building of the local population. Members of EWH DTU have been working on improving the biomedical equipment, infrastructure and capacity building of the local technical staff since May 2021.
After almost four years of collaboration with Masanga DK and 7 trips to the jungle hospital, a lot of progress has been made on the infrastructure, equipment and technical staff. As the collaboration continues and more trips are in the horizon, we invite you to join us for an update on the project and our future plans for this amazing place. We're currently looking to fill biomed expat positions in 2025, so if you're looking for an alternative, exciting and challenging student project to dive into, this may be the presentation for you!
But whether you're interested in learning how you can help and maybe even embark on one of the next jungle journeys, or simply desire an update or some inspiration for your next project, come join us for a lovely talk about this enchanted jungle gem.
