The MAP Sessions: August and Winter is almost over

The MAP Sessions are a monthly studio exchange where our In-House Artists and visiting guests share their practice with our wider community in a warm, open space. These exchanges can consist of live improvisations, works-in-progress, and research presentations.
The August edition is the last performance for 2022 before our Research Exchange artists for September, October, and November take over The MAP Sessions with their end of residency showings and discussions.
MAP Business Manager Virginia Kennard is emerging from behind her desk and endless spreadsheets and money maps to do "some kind of performance weirdness and rage release".
She welcomes guest vocalist Raquel MADFRANK Thomas and possibly MAP Deliverables Coordinator Jess Quaid [present via Zoom] to her performance space of dreams.
Virginia is a movement practitioner and explicit body performance artist from Pōneke. Learning things off by heart is hard and arts admin even harder so she likes to create mayhem in her performance space. Virginia will also be celebrating her jazz students sitting their dance exams and two of them getting into Brent Street so expect some jazz dance and pop music adventures.
Doors open at 6.30pm with performance happening from 7pm. Kai will be provided and BYO drinks!

Please note that the MAP studio is a Vaccine Required Site so all attendees must have a valid vaccination passport. Crew will be wearing masks. It would be lovely if you could wear a mask, but it is not a requirement.
