About this Event
This talk offers an in-depth reflection on the temporary installation of Echoes in Time at the Etihad Museum. The six-part docuseries, originally produced by Dubai Television between 1987 and 1990, explores the UAE's rich heritage of traditional music, dance, and poetry. Free for the public, the series is available for viewing in the museum’s media room from October 16th to January 16th.
In this special discussion, Maha Gargash, the director, and Khalid Al Budoor, the researcher for Echoes in Time, will share their experiences in bringing this significant cultural project to life. They will delve into the extensive research, creative efforts, and challenges faced during the production, providing a rare glimpse into the dedication it took to preserve this crucial aspect of the UAE's heritage.
More than three decades later, this series returns to a contemporary audience through the museum’s platform, serving both as a nostalgic look back and an important conversation on cultural preservation. The talk will highlight how history can shape future generations through the ongoing appreciation of our past.
