The Maker Mission: Game Console Ages 12+ | Build. Code. Play. Take it Home! Calling all young inventors, tinkerers, and tech-loving teens! This exciting hands-on workshop lets participants build their very own handheld game console from scratch — and take it home, fully working and ready to play! Perfect for ages 12+, this beginner-friendly session introduces kids to the world of hardware electronics, soldering, 3D printing, and embedded programming through fun, guided activities. What They’ll Learn & Do: - Solder real electronic components on a PCB - 3D Print and assemble the console case - Code simple games using microcontrollers (CH32V003 RISC-V) - Understand the fundamentals of embedded systems and electronics No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to learn! Who’s Teaching? This workshop is led by two real-life engineers from the satellite industry: - 🛠️ A Mechanical Engineer who specializes in building things that survive space. - 💻 A Firmware Engineer who brings hardware to life with code. They bring industry expertise straight to the classroom — inspiring kids with practical, hands-on STEM learning. Safety & Equipment Your child’s safety is our top priority. All participants will be provided with personal safety equipment, including: - Heat-resistant gloves - Safety goggles Trainers will guide kids through each activity with step-by-step supervision, ensuring a safe, fun, and confidence-building experience.
