The Maine Armed Forces Museum and the Maine Military Historical Society, located near the Augusta Airport and Camp Keyes, was established in July 1984. The museum seeks to be a bridge from the past to the present through telling the stories of Maine men and women who have answered the call to arms over the last two centuries. The museum strives to provide a focal point to foster and encourage public education in the role that Mainer’s played in the nation’s military history.
