The public is welcome to a free in-person seminar on TREES, sponsored by the Porter County Master Gardeners. Trees, as long-lived organisms, have a complex anatomy, biology, and physiology. They are also under constant assault from pests, diseases, construction equipment, and road salt, and need to utilize every biological tool at their disposal to eek out a living and provide us with the monetary, health, and aesthetic benefits we seek from them. Join Steve as we take a deep dive into the exciting world of tree anatomy and physiology, and touch on a great many Arboricultural topics in the process, such as using each tree's unique biological characteristics to select proper sites for them, and how to communicate the value of trees to your community! No RSVP is required. Come with an interest to learn more about the beautiful world around you!Bio: Steve Lane is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist with 20 years of professional experience in all facets of Arboriculture. Steve is highly active in the Indiana Arborist community and is in the process of assisting the Indiana Arborist Association in creating a groundbreaking Arborist Apprenticeship Program.
