The Lyrical Groove is an award-winning hip-hop soul band that combines spoken word and live instrumentation, cohesively crafts several genres of music to inspire and entertain. The Lyrical Groove consists of producer, poet, Kendrick Dial, the multi-talented artist Brisa Lauren, and an assortment of talented musicians. Over the years, they have continued to create timeless music that sings life to your humanity and moves your soul. The Lyrical Groove has won three San Diego Music Awards for Best Hip Hop/Soul Artist and Album in 2013, 2014 and 2017 respectively. Part of their approach leans on the fact that both Kendrick and Brisa are artists that actually work to support their communities. Brisa is actively involved as an organizer in the world of political and civic engagement, while Kendrick is a practice coach that trains human service leaders professionals. Together, the love creating art that is fun as well as meaningful and purposeful.
