There is no bar, so please bring your own refreshments, food, nibbles etc (and some change for the charity bucket).Blessed with a distinctive, bluesy, soulful voice, Luke Jackson has developed an enviable reputation for himself on the Roots, Acoustic, Americana, Blues & Folk circuits by virtue of his acclaimed recordings and dynamic live performances. Luke played Coolham as a solo performer back in 2018 and he was very well received at that time. Like many, many others, Luke’s career was ‘put on hold’ in early 2020 due to Covid but we have since been watching his career continue to develop. Notably with support slots for Fairport Convention, Richard Thompson, Marillion and Jools Holland. He also formed a Trio that he has been touring with and it is this line up we have booked for this gig. Here are some examples of their work both live and on an official video released to promote their single ‘The Wire’, taken from Luke’s most recent studio album ‘Bloom’, which was released last year.
It's been a couple of years since the incredibly talented Migden & Gibson last played Coolham and we are so pleased to have this ever popular duo back again. If you don't know them already it’s time you did as they are highly original musicians both as a duo and at the heart of David Migden and the Twisted Roots.
David Migden was raised in Little Rock Arkansas and moved to the UK as a teenager. After playing and touring around London and Europe, initially in the Lee Sankey Group with Matt Schofield and Ian Siegal. His vocal range and tone is astonishing and he is regarded as one of the best male vocalists of contemporary Blues music.
Guitarist, Joe Gibson, has worked and performed with artists including James Brown, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamie Cullum, Daniel Pearce, Jo Harman and Dan Clews and has built a reputation as a highly original musician.
