As part of his Pay It Forward residency with CitySpace, The LS CAMP, offers an evening grounded in the roots of Hip Hop culture. With lyrical precision, raw storytelling, and a lifelong commitment to the craft, this performance celebrates the power of Hip Hop as a source of strength, survival, and expression. Expect a set filled with original tracks, lived experience, and a spotlight on the often-overlooked heartbeat of the region’s local Hip Hop scene.
About The LS CAMP
Ricky (D-Rock), Eric (Rocwiella) and Mike (Mike Malík) make up the hip-hop trio LS Camp and are part of the duo called ERIC N RICKY. All 3 were Born and raised in Springfield, MA. The earliest memories of music were listening to iconic artists such as The Jackson 5, Heatwave, Stevie Wonder, and Earth, Wind & Fire.
At the early age of 13, D-Rock aka The HEATMIZER, decided he wanted to become a hip hop artist after becoming heavily influenced by Cold Crush Brothers, Sugarhill Gang, LL Cool J, Mantronix, Run-DMC, T La Rock, Just-Ice, and many others who helped develop and pioneer the foundations of rap music. He dealt with a lot of adversity while being homeless in his early 20s but relied on the strength of the Hip Hop culture to get him through the tough times. He believes that the “age factor” is a tough obstacle to overcome, but meeting and performing on the same stage as KRS-ONE, he feels, was his greatest achievement to date and more than makes up for the struggles. D-Rock has been a consistent and active participant in Hip Hop music from 2000 to present recording, performing, and promoting Hip Hop and events all over New England.
