The Lovers, a Gemini Sound Bath with Vinita Mundluru

The sound bath will begin with a gentle introduction to the Crystal Sound Bowls & Koshi Chimes with an overview on the The Lovers Tarot Card theme. This card is associated with the Astrological sign Gemini, an air sign.

As the sound bath progresses, you may find yourself drifting into a deep state of inwardness. Sound, through the lense of Ayurveda, is associated with space. The sound harmonizes and moves the waters of the subtle body in a way that creates space to be and to feel. A chance to slow down. It'll be a wonderful opportunity to let go as well as call-in.

We will explore nature's duality through discussion, guided meditation, and the octave's consonant and dissonant notes using the 7 different bowls, each set to a note in the octave. The Lovers Card is a sign of duality and difficult choices to make. Life seems to be a bit of emotional intensity met with harmony in-between. Come explore Gemini's artful nature through sound with Vinita!

Please BYOP (bring your own props) and your favorite emotional support clothing. Yoga mats, bolsters, blankets, cozy hoodies, pillows, meditation cushions, etc.

An intro from our facilitator:

"Hi you! Thank you for considering my offerings. My name is Vinita and I am an Indo-American visual artist with 20+ years' experience performing a classical indian dance form called Bharatanatyam. I've recently taken a break this year from the art to focus on the Art of Teaching; however, Bharatanatyam is in everything I do - as a highly expressive individual, I'm inspired to merge, reintroduce and incorporate the art form into yoga asana practice and way of thought.

Pockets of creative expression and play are scattered throughout class allowing for experimentation, personal edginess, and exploration. Mudras, asamyuta hastas and samyuta hastas (single and double handed gestures), sanskrit and meaning, sutras, mantras, quotes, poetry and prose help me paint a philosophical theme for you and the other students.

Often I will teach intuitively based on the needs of class; however, almost always I come prepared with my library of mini-sequences and focused flows. Many teachers and students honor, uplift, and admire my sense of creativity. As we build amongst the choreography, we may end up creating shapes you might have never experienced before in your body. I view my students as 3D artists on a 2D canvas, so you may very well leave class creatively energized and empowered. Much love and hope to guide you on your canvas.<3 "
