Sydney’s underground fans might recognize The Lost Futures' composer, video artist, and performer Luke Burton from his former multimedia project, The Vidiot (2020-2024).
Now, Burton takes his high-energy yet haunting style even further—and deeper—with The Lost Futures.
Burton kicked off The Lost Futures project this year at Vivid Sydney’s Tumbalong Park, opened for TISM frontman Humphrey B Flaubert (Damian Cowell), and has performed nationwide, including shows during Dark Mofo in Hobart.
Blending synthpunk, electroclash, hypnogogic pop and coldwave, the album draws on influences like Ariel Pink, John Maus, TISM, Aphex Twin, Jello Biafra, Throbbing Gristle, and D.A.F.
With singles like ‘I Tried To Be A Normal C**t,’ ‘Shrinkflation’ and ‘Money Is Your God’, The Lost Futures is poised to release some serious earworms into the world - and you can be the very FIRST to hear them!
Visually, Burton has also worked directly as an editor with American art-comedy trio Million Dollar Extreme, and fuses bleeding-edge video-mosh, y2k maximalism, and sardonic humor, gaining widespread internet attention for his signature ‘cyberdelic’ style.
Catch Business School (Term One) at the iconic Duke of Enmore—a venue that perfectly embodies the spirit of Sydney's punk underground!
