The Lord Jagannatha Festival is being organised to give a holistic experience of 'JAGANNATHA CULTURE' to His devotees. Although Lord Jagannatha, being the Lord of the Universe', descends on earth in SATYUG, His divine story and 'leela' is known to very few people. So, the festival begins with the theatrical play "BHAGWAAN JAGANNATH KATHA" - a mega spiritual and cultural theatrical play that depicts the divine story and 'leela' of the descent of Lord Jagannatha on earth.
The 'prasadam' made in the world's biggest kitchen of 'Shree Mandir' at Puri is first offered to Lord Jagannatha and It is then offered to Goddess Bimla (a form of Parvati). Thus, the 'prasadam' transforms to 'mahaprasadam'. 'Mahaprasadam'' holds a lot of significance for Jagannatha's devotees. So, the attendees of the festival will also be served sumptuous 'prasadam' (as lunch and dinner) made by cooks especially brought from Puri for this event.
Any spiritual and cultural festival will be incomplete without the 'bhajans'. So, the day long festival will conclude with melodious and soulful 'bhajans' on Lord Jagannatha that have been translated from Odia to Hindi and composed especially for this festival.
The festival will also have exhibition of handicrafts and handloom products made by the tribal artisans of Odisha.
