Event description
The Loose Lead Workshop has been designed for dog owners to understand and find a remedy to their dogs pulling on a lead. It offers both theoretical and practical solutions. The event will take place in a secure and friendly environment with a maximum of 6 dogs.
The workshop will be divided into three sections:
I. Theory
II. Practical
III. 1:1 with a Trainer
The theory will take place the day before the workshop on an online platform. During which we’ll discuss the most common reasons for dogs pulling. We will review the tools and accessories that are available to help and identify which may suit your dog.
We will also touch on a dogs’ needs to better understand their natural behaviour and motivation.
The practical part will take place either indoors or outdoors in a secure area, depending on the weather. This will be a hands-on experience with your dog, building focus, and improving engagement and motivation. During this session you will learn how to turn everyday walks into a calm, controlled and enjoyable
experience.
The final part of the Workshop will give you a chance to address your own dog’s challenges and receive tailored feedback and guidance from the Trainer.
The workshop is hosted by The Haven Hounds – Dog Walking and Boarding Services. Traci has been working with a variety of dogs over the last 3 years offering small, tailored play sessions, dog walking and home boarding. Having 4 dogs of her own she understands the challenges of getting the Loose Lead walking right! Traci will be on hand to assist where needed during the workshop.
Your Trainer, Marta, brings almost 10 years of experience working with a variety of breeds and temperaments, from busy city dogs to country companions. She competed in Obedience & Rally-Obedience with her Jack Russell and took part in Working Tests with her Labrador Retriever, which gives her a broad perspective on training specific skills.
Marta has a holistic approach to dog training. She uses a clear reward system and communication to build a bond based on understanding, while also considering each dog’s breed and age to keep training goals realistic.
