Both Sides of the Gun
4 Rings Tactical - Both Sides of the Gun is an intensive and unique training course that combines defensive pistol shooting skills with essential medical knowledge. Participants will learn how to switch from an active defensive/offensive mindset to a medical mindset, preparing them to respond effectively to critical situations where someone is badly injured and bleeding out while an active shooter is still in the area. The course aims to equip participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to save lives in high-stress scenarios, transforming this capability from a luxury into a necessity.
Course Content:
- Defensive Pistol Shooting: Reinforce fundamental defensive pistol shooting skills, enabling participants to effectively respond to potential threats and protect themselves and others.
- Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) Foundation: Provide participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to build and utilize their Individual First Aid Kit, ensuring they are prepared to address medical emergencies.
- IFAK and Everyday Carry (EDC) Kit Requirements: Ensure participants come equipped with their own IFAK and EDC Kit, emphasizing the importance of being prepared at all times.
- Hemorrhage Control: Focus on essential hemorrhage control techniques to stop severe bleeding and increase the injured person's chances of survival.
- Stress-Based Scenario Training: Utilize stress-based scenarios throughout different training settings, such as the classroom, simulated shoot house, and firing range, to test and reinforce the skills learned during the course.
Requirements:
- Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) and Everyday Carry (EDC) Kit: Participants must bring their own IFAK and EDC Kit to the class, as this will be an integral part of the training.
- CAT Tourniquet: Each participant should have a Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) as a crucial tool for managing severe bleeding.
- Holster and 1 Magazine Pouch: A proper holster and magazine pouch will be needed to safely carry the handgun during training exercises.
- Water: Participants are advised to bring water to stay hydrated throughout the class.
- Notebook and Pen: Bring a notebook and pen for taking notes during the training.
- Clothing for Movement: Wear clothing that allows free movement and can withstand dirt and stains during the training.
