Fiona Bolton (keys, vox) & Randall Blair (guitar/vox) will be playing a set of their original, 'snark-castic' & love-sick indie-folk tunes as part of the Merry Muse Folk Club's monthly gig.Fiona & Blair (Ex-The Wedded Bliss) are one-half of The Lonely Fates. The pair decided in 2022 to collaborate on song-writing and performance.
Since then, The Lonely Fates have started to carve a reputation for beautiful harmonies, insightful lyrics and catchy melodies.
The band has been compared to many, but maybe if you start at.... Fleetwood Mac meets Elliot Smith meets Elvis Costello meets Tori Amos and you may just get close.
Their live sets are always full of new songs, newish songs and a few shelf-worn old favourites from the duo's 25 year back catalogue.
So come along to the Irish Club Sunday May 12 for an afternoon of love songs, ghost stories & gothic hymns, intermixed with tunes about office politics or internalised road-rage. There may even be the odd Rolling Stones or Black Sabbath cover.
