The Living Dead Market serves as a yearly fundraiser for The Historic Harsimus Cemetery in Jersey City.
The Living Dead Market features 25+ vendors with original artwork, spooky handmade goods, taxidermy and natural history, crystals and botanica goods, antiques and oddities, skin and body care, candles soaps and jewelry, and live tarot and astrology readings.
The goals of the cemetery board:
To restore, and perpetually preserve and maintain the historic cemetery grounds, caretaker house, and historic monuments.
To achieve State and National Historic Landmark Preservation Status.
To develop a historical Memorial Park, Museum, and Visitor Center.
To provide a hands-on American history learning experience through educational lectures, films, tours, and events.
To promote cultural awareness of Jersey City's heritage and major role in important American History.
To increase public knowledge and appreciation of the Cemetery's natural beauty and historical significance.
Admission is $8 and 100% of admission fees support the cemetery maintenance.
This is an OUTDOOR event so we advise the use of sunscreen and insect repellent especially if exploring the grounds. There may be mosquitos and ticks.
Portapotties on site- this is unfortunately NOT an accessible location. Ground is uneven in areas. Dogs welcome on leash.
For vending information please submit on our website at www.jerseycityoddities.com - we do not answer vendor inquiries via social media so anyone claiming to be offering vending space is doing so fraudulently.
