The Iron Ukulele Benders have been sharing their love of the ukulele since 2015. Their mission is to provide a supportive environment where ukulele players of all ability levels can have fun playing together, and to be of service to the community by sharing the joy of ukulele music. They perform regularly at farmer's markets, festivals and other events in the area. They also meet twice a month for informal jam sessions.
Don Krech & Ed Scholl
Don: Ed Scholl and I have been playing duets on electric guitars for over 20 years, but Ed has been playing guitar in various bands throughout the valley since the 1950’s! Two of Ed’s favorite guitarists are Chet Atkins and Les Paul, so we play quite a few of their songs. There’s a rumor that Ed got his first guitar the year I was born.
Ed: I’ve been lucky enough to play with the Lipsmackin Blues Band, winning the Billtown Blues challenge in 2004 which sent us to Memphis to play at the international blues fest. I also played with Averie Clark, Cool Blue at a weekly Thursday gig at the Bleu Plate. There are a number of talented local musicians that I’ve had the honor joining.
