The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe was written by C.S Lewis and adapted by Adrian Mitchell for The Royal Shakespeare Company. It was first performed at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon on 23rd November 1998. It transferred to the Barbican Theatre, London in Spring 1999. Music is by Shaun Davey.The story follows four siblingsโPeter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie. The Children are evacuated from London during the Blitz.
They move to live in the home of Professor Kirke. While exploring their temporary home they stumble upon a mysterious wardrobe. No ordinary wardrobe but a portal to the magical land of Narnia.
Once inside, they discover that Narnia is under the icy rule of the White Witch (Queen Jadis). The Witch has cursed the land with eternal winter. She turns her enemies to stone. There is a rumour that the true ruler of Narnia, Aslan is on the move and returning to Narnia.
The children meet many magical creatures and soon find themselves entangled in a battle between good and evil. They join forces with the noble lion Aslan, whoโs sacrifice and resurrection become the turning point in the struggle against the Witch, leading to an epic final battle that restores peace to the kingdom.
