In this beautifully evocative retelling of the story of the very first Christmas the humble donkey is chosen out of all the other animals including the kingly lion and the proud unicorn.
His task is to carry Mary to the town of Bethlehem where she will give birth to the baby Jesus in a stable. As his journey unfolds he is touched by the magic and mystery of the Nativity.
In this beautiful adaptation of the story written by Jeanette Winterson the tale is performed in St Mary’s Church Beverley as part of our Christmas celebrations for 2024. We hope it helps you to connect with the Christmas story in a fun and engaging way.
There will be refreshments after the performance along with activities for children and familes all included in the ticket price. Please allow about an hour for the performance and the activities.
