Bassist Lindsey Horner is one of the more versatile musicians in jazz and modern music. He has most often been heard with musicians on the cutting edge recording and performing with artists such as Greg Osby, Bill Frisell, Bobby Previte, Dave Douglas, Don Byron and Muhal Richard Abrams, to name but a few.
As a leader, his most recent recording is a solo bass set called ONE MORE FOREVER. He has also produced five previous recordings, UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY, DON'T COUNT ON GLORY, BELIEVERS, MERCY ANGEL and NEVER NO MORE. He has also produced several records as a co-leader and has played on literally hundreds more as a sideman.
Lindsey co-leads a band with fellow multi-instrumentalists, singer and guitarist, Timothy Hill and percussionist, Randy Crafton, called SLEEPING BEE.
He was a member of the co-operative group JEWELS AND BINOCULARS which focused on improvised takes on the music of Bob Dylan.
Through the ‘90’s he performed as a member of the Myra Melford trio.
He also has deep roots in Irish music and is currently a member of fiddle master Eileen Ivers' band. Lindsey has toured and recorded extensively with singer/songwriter Susan McKeown & many others!
Colter Harper is an ethnomusicologist and musician from the North Country of New York. In 2011, Colter completed a PhD in Music (Ethnomusicology) at the University of Pittsburgh, where his research focused on the city's vibrant jazz history. Colter's own music owes a great deal to Pittsburgh's musical community as well as his experiences traveling, performing, and studying in West Africa, Brazil, and Europe. In 2007, Colter joined the multi-platinum selling, world music influenced rock band Rusted Root as a guitarist, percussionist, and vocalist. He recorded on the band's latest albums; Stereo Rodeo and The Movement, and performed with the band nationally until the summer of 2013. From 2013 to 2015, Colter returned to Ghana as a visiting lecturer in music at the University of Ghana. From 2018 to 2020, He returned to the University of Ghana as a Fulbright Scholar to create a music production teaching facility for the Department of Music. Colter is currently a Assistant Teaching Professor in the University at Buffalo’s Department of Music.
Jeff Berman- has performed internationally both as a solo artist and as a member of various ensembles. Some of the artists he has performed, recorded, and toured with include Andy Statman, Tony Trischka, Robert Een, Susan Mckeown, Lindsey Horner, Osei Koranke, Paul Bley, Linda Thompson, and choreographers Yin Mei and Gia Cacalano to name just a few. He has three recordings on the Palmetto Records label featuring his own compositions, and his music has been used for performance, dance, theatre, and film —including the Academy Award nominated documentary In Our Water.
Jeff, is rostered with the Pennsylvania State Council on the Arts as a Teaching Artist and has conducted residencies and professional development sessions across the Western Pennsylvania region. These experiences have ranged from creating world rhythm ensembles with elementary school students, Aesthetic Education workshops with middle school students, lecture/demonstrations on cross-cultural collaboration with college students, and workshops in improvisation for arts educators.
