The Liminal - Monthly Expressive Arts & Creative Circle in Berlin

“The liminal” is a monthly creative circle exploring life’s ever-changing nature with different expressive arts modalities.
About this Event

From spring to summer, between the space and the body, from this breath to the next, right here and now…

Every moment of our life is in constant transition, moving from certainty (past) to ambiguity (future). Mapping this journey, with our consciousness and all senses generously open, can invite wonders, surprises, and abundance into our being.

“The liminal” is a monthly creative circle exploring life’s ever-changing nature with imagination, collective engagement, and different expressive arts modalities in a group setting. Poetry, sounds, movement, visual arts, clay, as well as nature-based and embodied approaches are the tools we will use to navigate this in-between realm, where thousands of possibilities await to be discovered.

We’ll meet on 3 Saturdays at a beautiful space next to the Spree. Starting from the breath and movement, we will slowly dive into the liminal space, allowing our imagination, inquiries, and the unexpected to emerge. At the end of each session, we will come back to the art, harvest and share what has arrived and the messages or stories that need to be named or told. In our last gathering (6/20), we’ll create community art together to celebrate the arrival of the summer. ?

You are warmly invited to create, witness, and play, and I will be very happy if you bring friends.

You don't have to be an expert in arts or movement to join this circle. Just come as you are! Everyone is an artist. All bodies are welcome. :-)

Look forward to your presence! ?

About

The content and structure of the activities offered in this monthly circle are informed by intermodal expressive arts (Paolo Knill), social presencing theater (Otto Scharmer and Arawana Hayashi), dynamic mindfulness yoga (Tatjana Mesar), and Fluentbody (Florencia Lamarca), a movement and somatic approach.

What is intermodal expressive arts?

The practice of using imagery, storytelling, dance, music, drama, poetry, movement, dreamwork, and visual arts together, in an integrated way, to foster human growth, development, transformation, and healing. It is about reclaiming our innate capacity as human beings for creative expression of our individual and collective human experience in artistic form.

In what ways do expressive arts support personal transformation?

By engaging in creative activities, one can access parts of him/herself that may be difficult to express through words alone. It is a powerful tool to go beyond boundaries and gain new perspectives.
