THE LIGHT OF TEDZIFriday, December 12 | 4-6pm
$30 per person/$25 per Museum Member
Visit the Pratt classroom for an interdisciplinary art and heritage workshop about the stars and the night sky. Join tribal artist and cultural heritage expert Argent Kvasnikoff for a late afternoon program combining art, heritage, and astronomy with an activity that is inspired by constellations and star charts.
Argent will be sharing a presentation about the interpretation of celestial bodies in different cultures and the sciences, and how they are compared with local indigenous perspectives and current naming conventions used in modern astronomy.
Participants will also be guided in an activity that combines visual art and creative writing rooted in nighttime storytelling. The visual theme of this presentation is celestial, and the colors are dark indigo and blue. The attendee who dresses to match the theme best will win a prize!
Please bring warm clothes as we will be briefly observing the scenery and evening light outside as part of the creative exercise.
