From his debut performances with the Nightcrawlers in March 1973 to the release of his final studio album, The Sky Is Crying, Stevie Ray Vaughan revolutionized the sound of Texas blues. After forming the power trio, Double Trouble, in May 1978, he took the Texas club circuit by storm. During this program, we will discuss the life and legacy of an artist whose musical influence is still being strongly felt today. We will look back at his early years and his debut album, Texas Flood, and continue exploring highlights from his exciting musical career, up until his untimely death in a helicopter crash in East Troy, Wisconsin on August 27, 1990.
