Will James was convicted of cattle rustling in 1915 and sent to the Nevada State Penitentiary in Carson City. His parole application included a drawing called "The Turning Point" which depicted hs past as a cowboy, his present as an inmate, and his future as an artist. Although the road to an art career was not as smooth as he might have imagined, he did in fact become a well known and successful illustrator and author, fulfilling the goal he set in a lonesome prison cell at the age of 22. Please join us to celebrate his life and art, and Nevada's Western heritage, on February 15. All are welcome.
