Kristofferson was a pioneering figure in the outlaw country movement of the 1970s and counts among his songwriting credits are "Me and Boby McGee", "For the Good Times", "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", and "Help Me Make it Through the Night" and was a member of the country music supergroup the Highwaymen with Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.
