Accessed by a tidal causeway, Sunderland Point, at the tip of the Lune Estuary, is a truly special place with a rich history and extraordinary nature.Join writer Sarah Hymas at this special writing workshop, to celebrate the Point’s complex beauty and our relationships with it. We’ll explore the land and sea edge of the Point, consider ourselves as recent incomers and our impact upon it, as well encountering those who live there – in the air, mud, water and past of the place.
There’ll be guided writing, outdoor exploring, pairwork and sharing, all supported by specially created gentle and inspiring activities. We’ll have the use of the Reading Room to create a warm space, with a delicious soup lunch to keep ourselves nourished.
Sarah has lived on the Bay for over 14 years, writing, performing and making work about the sea, its inhabitants and coastal edges. She is inspired by sharing her sense of wonder of the vulnerabilities in our world and creates safe spaces for inclusive, creative thinking. www.sarahhymas.net
