We also want to offer this as a celebration of the unique contributions of women in leadership both in the early church, and in the contemporary Church. The ELCA Lutheran Church has been ordaining women for over 50 years! The church has been blessed by the unique contributions of women in a variety of ways over the last 2000 years. And it all started with a handful of women 2000 years ago who said “Yes!” to following Jesus the Christ.
