Exhibition Opening Nov 21, 6PM
The exhibition conjures the suea saming, or weretiger, as the tragic figure of Sao Kya Seng, the last prince who abdicated to serve the Shan.
In 1962, Sao was arrested by the junta, never to be seen again. Villagers believe he escaped to the forest where he awakened as a weretiger. Today the Shan continue to fight for independence with the tiger as a symbol of resistance.
