About this Event
To celebrate the re-opening of the Lapworth, the museum is hosting its annual William Murdoch lecture, a prestigious event celebrating the museums cultural and scientific importance. However, before the lecture can begin, a stranger enters the building, claiming to be a time traveller from an alternative timeline, where there is no COVID, no poverty and the transatlantic slave trade never happened. We are in a divergent timeline created in error during a previous trip. A dystopia she must correct, will you help her fix the past to save the future?
An immersive theatre adventure, combining escapes rooms and performance The Lapworth Experiment explores our relationships to museums and what we deem to be worthy of curation and how our understanding of the past shapes how we see the present.
Created by award-winning writer and producer Matthew Gabrielli, he describes his work as ‘telling tales & having adventures’. He previously produced a theatre escape room for Lapworth Lates back 2019.
