Following on the success of our gaming tournaments, Crookes & Crosspool Tabletop Gaming are pleased to host the 'THE KRKUR KURSE (AUTUMN 2024)', our first Warhammer Underworlds (WU) tournament at our 'home ground', Crookes Social Club, Mulehouse Road, Sheffield. The tournament is based on the WU 'Nemesis' format, taking place over 5 rounds, with a 'best of 1 game' per round.
Entry is £10 per person (plus a small fee to Eventbrite) for a full day's gaming, which includes a FREE raffle ticket, with a chance to win a great raffle prize (TBC, additional tickets can be bought at £1 each).

There is plenty of parking availability at the club, both in the car park and on the streets immediately next to it. The club is also a 5-minute walk from the 52/52a bud stop.
WHAT DO ATTENDEES NEED TO BRING?
- An official WU Warband
- A valid 'Nemesis' card deck, made up of a combination of your warband's faction-specific cards and the universal cards from ONE 'Rivals' deck (usual rules on min/max number of cards/card types still applies).
- Dice
- At least ONE Board (from the 2023 Starter set, Gnarlwood set, Wyrdhollow set, Deathgorge set, and the Wintermaw set)
- The WU 'Wintermaw' rulebook, Nemesis format rules, plus latest FAQ, errata, etc (digital versions of these are available to download for free from the Warhammer Community: https://www.warhammer-community.com/warhammer-underworlds-downloads/)
Prizes include (all prizes are cumulative, e.g. a person in the top 4 wins prizes for being in the top 4, top 8, and top 25):
FIRST PLACE - Shadeglass trophy
TOP 4 PLAYERS - Wintermaw deck box
TOP 8 PLAYERS - Double-sided plastic tokens
TOP 25 PLAYERS - 6 alternative art cards (2 objectives, 2 gambit, 2 upgrades)
ALL PLAYERS - a set of Wintermaw alternative art warband cards OR Deathgorge alternative art warband cards (determined randomly by the Tournament Organiser)
BEST PAINTED - a luxury C&CTG branded dice bag, which also doubles as a dice tray (courtesy of Boardgame Solutions), plus an official GW Golden Demon 'best painted' WU card.
TOURNAMENT RESTRICTIONS/RULES:
- The same warband MUST to be used throughout the tournament and CANNOT be changed between rounds
- The same 'Nemesis' card deck MUST to be used throughout the tournament and CANNOT be changed between rounds
- A 'win' counts as 5pts, a 'draw' as 3pts, and a 'loss' as 1pt. Glory difference will need to be recorded for each round, as will the total glory scored (these will help determine players' rankings throughout the tournament).
- In the case of odd numbers, a 'bye' will be applied (first at random, then randomly to one the lowest scoring coaches in the bottom six at the start of each round). A 'bye' will count as a win, with a glory difference of +7.
TIMINGS:
1h allowed per game (5 games in total)
Arrive/register: 9.45am
Game 1 commences: 10.30am
Game 2 commences: 11.45am
Break for lunch at 1pm; 'best painted' entries are judged (with winner announced at end)
Game 3 commences: 2pm
Game 4 commences: 3.15pm
Game 5 commences: 4.30pm (finishes at 5.45pm)
Tournament rankings (including 'best painted') announced just after 6pm

This is a self-policing tournament; any issues should be resolved between players or, if necessary, ruled on by a third player.
Above all, this is meant to be a fun and light-hearted tournament and should not be taken too seriously (though, of course, there are some top prizes to be won!)
Please note that all proceeds from this event will go towards C&CTG's gaming funds (less room hire fees, etc).
