All Saints Sessions, known for their ground-breaking performances combining poetry and electronic music since 2017 at All Saints Church in Edmonton, are presenting their latest show, The Kiss of a Wave . This new production was specially commissioned by the Poetry in Aldeburgh Festival for its 2025 edition, where it had its first performance in November. The show features poet Cheryl Moskowitz and composer Alastair Gavin, who are joined by renowned guests: Sam Brown on lute and soprano singer Elinor Popham.
Inspired by the 100th anniversary of Virginia Woolf’s novel Mrs Dalloway , the team explores Woolf’s concerns with war, society, and mental health. They do this through newly written poetry and text, a mix of music from the Elizabethan era to modern styles, electronic soundscapes, and specially recorded sounds from real-life locations. The entire performance is delivered using All Saints Sessions’ distinctive 360-degree sound system, creating an immersive experience for the audience.
As an added highlight, this unique live event also includes a performance by the much-loved British poet John Hegley, accompanied by multi-genre violinist Eleanor Moreton, who plays folk, jazz, and bluegrass music.
