Founded in 1956 by a group of brothers in western North Carolina, the Kingsmen rose to prominence by the early 1970s with their Dove Award-winning album Big and Live. Over the decades, they have maintained their status as one of the top male quartets in Christian music, achieving numerous milestones, including six #1 southern gospel radio hits since 2015, two GMA Dove Award nominations, and a #1 album on the Billboard Chart. Their influence and impact have been recognized with inductions into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame (2000) and Christian Music Hall of Fame (2008), along with performances at the White House, the World’s Fair, and the Grand Ole Opry.
The Kingsmen’s legacy spans more than 70 years, with over 100 charted classics, including iconic gospel hits like “Saints Will Rise,” “The Judgement,” and “I Can’t Even Walk Without You Holding My Hand.” Led for nearly six decades by award-winning bass vocalist Ray Dean Reese, now their CEO, the group remains committed to sharing the message of Christ through music.
