When Freddie King - The "Texas Cannonball" exploded on to the stage, his guitar skills quickly solidified his place among the Kings of Blues.
Billy Gibbons formed ZZ Top in late 1969, and quickly settled on bassist/vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank "Rube" Beard, both members of the band American Blues. After honing their trademark blues-rock style, they released ZZ Top's First Album on London Records in 1971.
Johnny Winter was known for his high-energy blues rock albums, live performances, and slide guitar playing.
During his lifetime Lighnin’ Hopkins recorded 200 singles and 85 albums. His music lives on not only in his expansive catalog, but in his influence on artists from Bob Dylan to ZZ Top.
