This month the Salty Sirens are proud to present their salty Irish mateys, The Kelly Family Band!The Kelly Family Band are in their phoenix rising stage, having been happily busy driving the Barleyshakes bus for the last few years up and down the country and overseas. They promise to surprise with a fresh approach to their Celtic heritage, teaming new songs with contagious uplifting grooves. Fiddles, guitar, saxophone, percussion and sensational vocal harmonies give them their adorable sound.
Lovers of swell sea shanties and rollicking singalongs, The Salty Sirens are Kristy Capstanfield (vocals and accordion) and Elyse Fishpatrick (vocals and whale facts). Since 2021, they have been rocking boats the country wide with their flavour of sea shanties, SHE shanties and sea songs with a modern, queer twist, and now these sapphic sailors are sailing into Ipswich to lead you on a musical journey through traditional and modern nautical folk song, tales of shipwork, daring adventure, defiance and debauchery on the high seas. Hoist the anchor and limber up those sealegs - these really aren't your grandpa's sea shanties!
Please note ticket prices on the door will be $20/$25 (unwaged/waged) to encourage pre-sales. This helps the artists to plan their events!
