Formed in 2022, this prize-winning ensemble is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. The quartet has enjoyed playing recitals both within college and externally, including a residency at the 2024 Wye Valley Chamber Music Festival. They were fortunate to win both the Hirsch Prize 2023 with their performance of Beethoven’s Opus 18 No.1, and the Elias Prize 2024 with compositions written by their violist and cellist.
The programme includes Haydn’s effervescent String Quartet in D Major, Op.20 No.4, and ‘The Evergreen’ by Caroline Shaw, a beautifully evocative set of 4 pieces inspired by one particular tree on Swiikw Island, off the west coast of Canada.
