About this Event
The Joy of Feasting is an interactive food experience exploring Rasa—the Indonesian concept of taste, feeling, and essence—through the flavors, aromatics, and shared practices of Indonesian cuisine.
Guided by The Joy of Feasting and chef Miranti, this session invites participants to taste, smell, learn, move, and reflect on how Indonesian food is built: not from single dishes, but from layered flavor foundations shaped by land, trade, migration, and community.
Rather than a cooking class or lecture, this is a sensory, participatory gathering. We’ll explore key spices and aromatics, compare Indonesian flavor profiles with other Asian cuisines, and learn how balance, contrast, and intention shape everyday meals. Movement, conversation, and collective tasting support the experience—reminding us that eating is relational, cultural, and alive.
No cooking experience is required. Come curious, hungry for knowledge, and ready to engage your senses.
“Not everyone knows how to cook, but everyone knows how to eat.”
