Tony Rizzi, 58 years old, was born in West Newton, USA and studied at the Boston Ballet School, with Bruce Wells and Violette Verdy for only 3 years before joining the Ballett Frankfurt in 1985. Rizzi worked as an artistic advisor to William Forsythe, and danced with his company for 19 years and performed numerous leading roles. For the past 20 years, Rizzi has also worked regularly with Belgian choreographer Jan Fabre. He created the solo, Drugs Kept Me Alive, that toured internationally as well as various roles including Maria Callas as Medea in his epic 24 hour show Mount Olympux. For his own company, Tony Rizzi and the Bad Habits, he developed numerous productions in collaboration with Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm. In addition, as a choreographer, he regularly develops pieces for renowned companies such as the Bavarian State Ballet and the Royal Ballet of London.
