Our next show is November 23rd. 7:30pm at the Simonholt Restaurant with the final show of this season presenting something very different from our usual.We are bringing an old musical friend of mine from the UK, presently living in Boston, Award Winning singer songwriter, John Kelly. We have teamed John with with a stellar band of jazz musicians. To provide what seems to be a unique musical experience these days as John sings his own songs.
The band features John Kelly (voice and guitar), Emily Celeste (voice), Daryl Louis Marklinger (lead and acoustic guitars), Brent Jarvis (keys), Graham Shonwise (basses) and Hans Verhoeven (drums).
John's latest project had an auspicious beginning when one of his more pop-oriented compositions, "Shine", became a standout Award Winner at the Nashville Songwriters Association International. He also happens to be Professor Of Addiction Psychology at Harvard University. Bright as a button, he has always been.
A hugely gifted lyricist, John's melodies will find a place in your head and stay there! New to Nanaimo but not new to music, this show will be recorded by the venerable Ron Obvious for a live album, so bring your best applause!
